The company starts by understanding its business processes and achieves maturity when it takes control of its key business processes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"330\" data-end=\"470\">This lifecycle is based on 7 practices or core principles identified by APQC analysts from the experience of implementing numerous projects:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"472\" data-end=\"647\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"475\" data-end=\"647\"><strong data-start=\"475\" data-end=\"509\">Alignment with Strategic Goals<\/strong> The prioritization of business processes and initiatives for process improvement should be aligned with the company&#8217;s strategic goals.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"649\" data-end=\"1003\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"652\" data-end=\"911\"><strong data-start=\"652\" data-end=\"704\">Formalized Roles and Rules of Process Management<\/strong> When implementing process management into the company&#8217;s everyday operations, a critical factor for success is the clear definition of rules and the distribution of responsibilities and authority between:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"916\" data-end=\"1003\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"916\" data-end=\"932\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"918\" data-end=\"932\">Top management<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"936\" data-end=\"952\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"938\" data-end=\"952\">Process owners<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"956\" data-end=\"974\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"958\" data-end=\"974\">Process analysts<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"978\" data-end=\"988\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"980\" data-end=\"988\">Managers<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"992\" data-end=\"1003\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"994\" data-end=\"1003\">Employees<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"426\" data-end=\"776\"><strong data-start=\"116\" data-end=\"154\">Transparent Business Process Model<\/strong><br data-start=\"154\" data-end=\"157\" \/>The lack of process models creates misunderstandings among participants. A clear architecture and design of business processes allows for the identification of pain points, root cause analysis, and consideration of interdependencies when improving business processes.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"426\" data-end=\"776\"><strong data-start=\"426\" data-end=\"458\">Systematic Change Management<\/strong><br data-start=\"458\" data-end=\"461\" \/>Changing the way things have always been done inevitably leads to resistance. A conscious, systematic approach to change management enables you to plan actions in advance: engage stakeholders in process initiatives, communicate vision and goals, provide training, and prepare employees to work in a new environment.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"778\" data-end=\"1084\"><strong data-start=\"778\" data-end=\"834\">Regular Evaluation of Business Process Effectiveness<\/strong><br data-start=\"834\" data-end=\"837\" \/>Regular evaluation of business process performance indicators (PPI) helps identify deviations and take corrective actions in a timely manner. PPI analysis allows you to assess the effectiveness of initiatives aimed at improving business processes.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1086\" data-end=\"1444\"><strong data-start=\"1086\" data-end=\"1128\">Targeted Business Process Optimization<\/strong><br data-start=\"1128\" data-end=\"1131\" \/>To ensure that support and resources are allocated to initiatives that make the greatest contribution to achieving organizational goals, a formalized approach to business process improvement must be used. Otherwise, process optimization becomes fragmented and, at best, offers limited returns to the organization.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1446\" data-end=\"1831\"><strong data-start=\"1446\" data-end=\"1470\">Technology as a Tool<\/strong><br data-start=\"1470\" data-end=\"1473\" \/>We live in an era where technologies are constantly evolving. They provide standardization and automation of business processes. However, automation is merely a tool for process management. It cannot replace the management itself.
